Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation: Review
August 21, 2017
After hearing raving reviews about Estee Lauder’s double wear foundation for years, I decided to take the plunge and make a purchase. I’ve been using it now for about 3 weeks and thought I’d give a little review.
The packaging itself is very elegant – glass bottle, gold lid, no pump to ruin the illusion.
I have quite problematic skin and when applied correctly, this foundation does a pretty good job at covering up imperfections. I normally apply concealer over the top but not all areas needs that extra coverage. It is quite heavy coverage but it still feels light on the skin and my skin is still able to breathe.
I recently wore this foundation while I was on holiday. I would put my makeup on at 9am and after 7 hours in the hot sun, the foundation was still in place. I was amazed by this! My skin didn’t appear oily and the coverage was still very much there.
Value for Money
At £32.50 this foundation is definitely not an impulse purchase but I would definitely buy it again (unless I find an incredible dupe). When using my Real Techniques buffing brush, I usually use the equivalent of just under one pump so I feel like this foundation could last quite some time. The extra boost of SPF is a great help to the skin too!
I picked mine up on Feel Unique as there was a discount code on at the time so if you’re interested, keep checking back to see if one appears.
Have you got this foundation? What’s your thoughts? Is there a similar product you would recommend?
